Obama’s Rules for Disengagement in Afghanistan
60With 30,000 more troops finally committed to the ongoing war effort it is only right that the American people should be made aware of the newly implemented Barrack Hussein Obama’s Rules of Engagement currently in place in Afghanistan. First the U.S. commander in the Afghan Theater now has to order U.S. and NATO forces to break away from fights with militants hiding among villagers. This was placed into effect in order to protect Afghan civilians. Thus this president has decided it is more important to protect Afghan civilians than American soldiers who become more vulnerable during the retreat!
Next Barrack Sheik Hussein Obama has found a way to neutralize American Air Superiority. U.S. airstrikes aimed at militants hiding in villages will only be ordered if U.S. and/or NATO Forces are in imminent danger. Gen. Stanley McChrystal, said his measure of effectiveness will now be the “number of Afghans shielded from violence” — not the number of militants killed." Thus the Commander on the ground realizes the absurdity of these politically correct restrictions. So he has now issued orders allowing troops to attack insurgents hiding in Afghan houses if U.S. or NATO forces are in imminent danger! Now the question begging to be answered is what constitutes Imminent Danger and who determines it; one living the reality of war or a Commander and Chief thousands of miles away playing army! Our brave soldiers have already experienced the result of some of their war time decisions as they have had to endure after the fact boards of inquiry demanded by the likes of John Kerry, John Murtha and the late Ted Kennedy!
Because of the aforementioned restrictions airstrikes by coalition forces in Afghanistan have dropped dramatically during the past three months in order to avoid civilian casualties. NATO fixed-wing aircraft dropped 1,211 bombs and other munitions during this period compared with 2,366 during the same period last year. This nearly 50% decline in airstrikes comes during a time enemy insurgent attacks have increased. Why, because ground troops are less inclined to call for bombing or strafing runs fearing civilian causalities may result,
Next if an American or ally unit is taking fire from an enemy compound and they can remove themselves from the area safely, without any undue danger to the forces, then that’s the option they should take. Why, because civilians are often kept captive by the Taliban in these compound. What; these rules of engagement require our forces to retreat from a fight they could otherwise win because of possible collateral damage? I’m sorry but war is about collateral damage!
And here’s one that has got to make each and every soldier feel safe and secure. The United States must ensure procedures are in place to investigate civilian deaths since more troops are heading to Afghanistan! They go on to say that any troops who violate Afghan civilian’s human rights are held to account. So our government is more interested in punishing our troops than protecting them.
So what is the end result of our current Commander and Sheik’s new rules of engagement? American lives have been put unnecessarily at risk in order to protect a civilian population that in most cases is sympathetic with the terrorist while creating an environment in which General McChrystal is doomed to failure. Thus this left wing administration has created the perfect scenario for themselves, we will lose the War in Afghanistan and our military will be blamed for the loss, not the Perfect One, Barrack Hussein Obama!
They have already punished our troops for 'punching' a terrorist during a capture, and how many have gone on trial? Why go to war at all if these are the terms, why not let them fend for themselves? I try to find something good about Obama and this administration, I really do, but what's happening in our country now is a travesty. Everyday people like us voice our concerns, and everyday it seems like things just keep getting worse. Good Hub!
Imagine if Bush had waited for a made-for-TV pressser to announce troop deployments. Imagine if Bush put off his decision until he enjoyed his Thanksgiving holiday. Imagine if Bush had lied about how his delayed decision had no impact on troop safety, as Obama did on Tuesday evening. Does BHO sign the checks at NBC? Seems like it.
@Partisan Patriot: Oh my goodness. Oh my goodness. I threw up in my mouth a little when BHO went down his laundry list of Things I Did That Make Me Patriotic. He signed condolence letters to the families? He met a transport plane at Dover (with photographers in tow, by the way)? How many men and women are in dire straits in Afghanistan because he dragged his feet for months? Did the Taliban stand down until BHO had his turkey?
Now they will probably use more civilians knowing we will turn our backs. What a bargaining chip! War is sacrifice and ugly. You are right, creating a no win situation here and will probably blame everyone else.

Are you kidding me?
They go on to say that any troops who violate Afghan civilian’s human rights are held to account. So our government is more interested in punishing our troops than protecting them.
If this is war, I think we need to bring all our guys and gals home, and let those who kill in the name of allah, kill each other, and make it clear, if one Allah worshipper wants to kill Americans, such as Major Hasan did, We will strike back and no apologies for collateral damage!!
